This course enables students to deepen their understanding of Chemistry through the study of various topics including but not limited to: Atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, gases, solutions, acids and bases, thermodynamics, reaction rates and equilibrium, organic and biochemistry.
Students will further develop their analytical skills and investigate the qualitative and quantitative properties of matter, as well as the impact of some common chemical reactions on society and the environment. Laboratory investigations, group projects, readings, homework assignments, presentations, papers, and exams are integral parts of this course. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are addressed on a daily basis.
